Creating Successful Job Placements in Green Jobs: Key Strategies Using Policy and Civic Engagement (2/16)
On February 16th at 1:00pm EST, Johnson County Community College will host its monthly Community College Sustainability Webinar. Experts in the industry, including panelists from Efficiency First, U.S. Partnership for Education for Sustainable Development and the American Association of Community College's (AACC) SEED Center, will discuss how campuses can use their resources to engage in regional policy efforts leading to the growth of green jobs and student success.
Reducing Carbon Minimizing Cost, and Preparing Students for Tomorrow's Jobs
On October 17, 2011 the ACUPCC will host the webinar "Reducing Caron Minimizing Cost, and Preparing Students for Tomorrow's Jobs" from 2:00-3:30 pm Eastern time. This webinar will focus on Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) as a national pioneer in sustainability efforts and green technology initiatives. For MATC, these efforts and initiatives go hand-in-hand with its goal to be the bridge to a better future for its students, graduates and community. This webinar will explore MATC's sustainability relationship with Johnson Controls that has maximized utility budgets, and has utilized "advanced technology" to reduce the college's overall carbon footprint, drive down operating costs, and educate students for tomorrow's jobs.

Green STAR expo will provide attendees with the opportunity to evaluate both conventional and green products, and will offer cutting edge workshops on pertinent business topics, including green business strategy, products and services, as well as professional development.
Understanding the FY11 Job Training Grant Application Guidelines
This free online seminar will provide an overview of the FY11 application guidelines for the Environmental Workforce Development and Job Training Grants (formerly known as the “Brownfields Job Training Grants"). The first session on August 30 is specifically geared towards tribal, tribal and minority academic institution applicants. The second session will be held on September 2 for other applicants.
